day 1: habits
Our habits truly shape who we become and the life we lead. The more we do something, the more we strengthen the neural pathways associated with that behavior. We start to do them automatically. And as you might guess, if we do the same things over and over, we'll likely get the same results. So, if there are changes you would like to make in your life – whether it's attracting love, changing your career, or embarking on a healthy lifestyle – start by looking at your habits.
Identify Samyoga & Viyoga
Within Ayurveda there are the concepts of samyoga and viyoga. Samyoga are activities that bring you closer to your higher self. And viyoga are activities that take you away from your highest self. These are going to be unique to each person, but let me give you some examples.
Samyoga:
Cooking, meditating, journaling, dancing, being in nature
Viyoga:
Binge-watching Netflix, drinking too much, getting back together with the on-again/off-again ex.
Day 1 Practice
Today, in your workbook, make a list of the things that strengthen you and weaken you. Choose one item from the samyoga column that you will commit to doing each day this week. And one thing from the viyoga column that you will look to release.
